Madison Heights City Councilman

About Mark

"I'm blessed to have lived in Madison Heights my entire life. I graduated from Lamphere Schools, got married at St. Vincent Ferrer, bought my 1st home 2 blocks from where I grew up, and gave each of my 3 kids their 1st push on a swing in the same park I went to as a child. My overarching goal on council is that I want to make sure that when my children look back on growing up here 2 decades from now they'll have the same positive story as I do, but to do that we need to keep innovating and pushing our city forward."

Professionally Mark is a certified IT Project Manager, has spent a decade in tech and software start-ups, and is currently the Director of Marketing at Xeeva, a procurement software company headquartered in Madison Heights. He's spoken at conferences on emerging technology and has immense experience hiring and managing teams. Those skills, as well as having been responsible for multi million dollar departmental budgets, have helped Mark bring an experienced and modern voice to City Hall.

He has been an active volunteer in the community since he was the president of the Jaycees award-winning youth organization more than 2 decades ago, and has run dozen's of community projects like haunted houses, youth picnics, and concerts, and has taught classes on personal finance basics and job interview techniques to hundreds of students and local families.

Personally, Mark and his wife Allison have been married for more than 10 years and are proud parents of 3 amazing children who absolutely love "Pure Michigan." In addition to their vacations "up north" they love visiting local treasures like the Detroit Zoo, Henry Ford Museum, Detroit Institute of Arts, Greenfield Village, and our very own Red Oaks Nature Center. They are also frequent visitors to the many farms, orchards, and farmers markets in the area.
